What Makes a Quality Windshield Repair?

According to NWRA and ANSI standards, a proper windshield repair should:

• Completely fill the break with resin
• Restore at least 85% of the original clarity
• Remove nearly all air from the break
• Create a strong bond that prevents crack spreading
• Be nearly invisible when viewed from 3 feet away

Repair vs. Replacement Guidelines

Not all windshield damage can or should be repaired. Here are the general guidelines:

Damage Type	Repairable	Requires Replacement
Bullseye	Up to 1" diameter	Over 1" diameter
Star Break	Up to 3 legs, under 3"	4+ legs or over 3"
Crack	Under 14" long	Over 14" long
Edge Crack	Not repairable	Any length
